Don Charlton has been teaching with SophieConnect since 2015 and thoroughly enjoys the experience, especially teaching economics because he believes students who learn to "think like economists" are empowered to make better decisions in all aspects of their lives.

A teacher in New York City since 2006, he holds a B.A. in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.S. Ed. in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University, an M.A. in History from The City College of New York and an M.A. in Economics also from The City College of New York. Don has also earned Professional Teaching Certificates for middle and high school social sciences in Virginia and New York.

A retired U.S. Navy veteran (1986-2006), Don’s last tour of duty was at the Center for Naval Leadership in Norfolk, Virginia where he facilitated courses in organizational leadership and management. He and his wife recently relocated to Long Island.
