Stefanie G. Reay has been teaching mathematics, statistics, analytics and information technology for over 20 years as adjunct faculty for various universities and colleges, and has been teaching online for 10 years. Stefanie earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Connecticut in 1999, a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Connecticut in 2001, a Post-Master's Certificate in College Teaching from Capella University in 2009 and is completing her PhD in Information Technology, with a specialization in IT Education from Capella University.
Prior to changing her focus to doing what she truly loves, teaching and coaching, Stefanie worked in industry for 15 years, holding a variety of positions, including analyst, credit & portfolio risk manager/VP, software administrator, software architect and consultant. Prior to teaching with SophieConnect, Stefanie has taught elementary statistics, survey of mathematics, fundamental mathematics, algebra I and II, introduction to database systems, and a variety of analytics courses, including, but not limited to, data mining, text mining, forecasting, and visual analytics. In her personal life, Stefanie enjoys coaching and playing volleyball, continuing to learn about anything and everything math, statistics, and technology-related, trying new arts and crafts and spending time with her husband, daughters and dogs.
